Privacy Policy

On the Beacon Church website we request some information when users register for a 'login' for the following reasons:

  • Because registered users have access to personal information of other registered users
  • Because we are providing interactive services between our registered users
  • Because some content is restricted to registered users

    Our principles

We want to protect the privacy of users so we will not share your information with anyone without your informed consent

Concerning your email address you will only receive email from Beacon Church in relation to services and events offered by Beacon Church.

Registered users can email each other through the website.

    What is your responsibility?

Registered users have privileged access to the personal information and contact details of other registered users. This brings a responsibility.

    • Please do not pass on these details to anyone else.
    • Please do not use the contact details for marketing your business or communicating controversial views.
    • Please do not forward chain emails into the registered community.
    • And do not forward information received within the registered community to people outside the community.

    What information do we collect?

We collect information on our users through registration.

The minimum information we need to register a user is your first and last name, your choice of both a username and a password, plus the first line and post code of your postal address. We ask for this information because we only accept registrations from people who are actively involved in the church community. This information allows the moderators to confirm that a new registration is from a person who is actually part of the church community.

Who will have access to your information?

Any personal information you put on this site will be visible to other registered users of the site.

What else you should know about privacy?

Remember to close your browser when you have finished your user session. This is to ensure that others cannot access your personal information and correspondence if you leave the computer unattended. This is particularly important if you have logged in from a shared computer or from a computer in a public place like a library or internet cafe.

Please be aware that whenever you disclose personal information voluntarily on the internet this information can be collected and used by others - especially if you post personal information in publicly accessible online forums. This high-risk behaviour is more likely to result in your receiving unsolicited messages from third parties. This is why we require anyone who wants to access the interactive services on our website to register. We will only accept registrations for the secure area of the web site from people who disclose their real names, and who are known to us as regular attenders at Beacon Church (Runnymede).

Remember please be careful and responsible whenever you are using the Internet:

    • You are personally responsible for the security of, and access to, your own computer.
    • You are solely responsible for maintaining the secrecy of your usernames and passwords and any account information.

By the way, our web pages contain links to other websites and we cannot be held responsible for content or the privacy practices on other websites.
